Why a funeral director built this
Why a funeral director built this
You won't need to explain the trade to us. We'll talk to you as one funeral director to another.
Cortege Digital is run by Andrew Crymble, a third-generation funeral director.
He knows what families ask on the phone, what they look for on a website, and what the rules expect. In the US, the FTC Funeral Rule requires a General Price List for anyone who asks in person, and prices by phone. It doesn’t currently require prices online, but some states have website rules, and many families now look for prices before they call.
- We know the questions families ask
- We know the FTC Funeral Rule basics
- We write in a calm, respectful tone
- We understand out-of-hours calls

Questions
Good to know.
Is the website score really free?
Yes. You get a written score and the main fixes. You don't have to buy anything.
Will I own my website?
Yes. The domain is registered in your name and the site is yours. If you leave, we hand everything over.
How long does a rebuild take?
Usually a few weeks, depending on how quickly we get your photos and content. You approve the site before it goes live.
Can I still update obituaries myself?
Yes, or send them to us and we'll put them up, usually the same business day.
Do you run the AI for us?
No. We design an AI setup template tailored to your funeral home and give you clear, step-by-step instructions. With the done-for-you option, we also connect it to your email, inquiries and calendar. Either way, you stay in control of it, and we don’t run or operate it day to day.
Do you help with the FTC Funeral Rule?
Yes, with the website side of it. The FTC Funeral Rule requires a General Price List for anyone who asks in person, and price information by phone. It doesn’t currently require prices online: the FTC has asked whether it should (an early-stage notice in 2022), but no rule has been proposed or made. Some states have their own website rules; California, for example, asks funeral homes with a website to link to their price list or list of goods and services from the home page. We build your site so your price list is easy to find. Your prices and content stay your responsibility. This is not legal advice.
